Forbidden Cleaner: Why Jinn Eat Bones

The “Don’t Face the Qibla While You Shit – Bones Are Food for Jinn” Hadith: Sahih Muslim’s Bathroom Rules That Prove Islam Is Repackaged Pagan Superstition

Pragmatic Introduction for Polemicists This hadith is one of the most ridiculous in the entire collection — and it’s in Sahih Muslim. The supposed Creator of the universe is personally dictating which direction a man should point his asshole while taking a dump, and banning bones and dung for wiping because invisible jinn eat them. Add the ban on spitting toward the Qibla and you have total 24/7 ritual control over the most basic human functions. This isn’t divine guidance. This is 7th-century Arabian tribal taboo and jinn-worship nonsense wrapped in “revelation” to keep followers mentally chained to Mecca and terrified of invisible demons even when they’re squatting in the desert.

The Hadith Text (Sahih Muslim)

Abu Hurayrah narrated: ‘The Prophet said: When you go to relieve yourselves, do not face the qiblah or turn your back to it.’

He also said: ‘Do not use bones or dung for cleaning, for they are provision for your brothers among the jinn.’

(The jinn delegation reportedly requested that bones not be used because they eat from them. Respect for the Qibla also forbids spitting in that direction.)

Source: Sahih Muslim – Book of Purification (Kitab al-Taharah) (Appears in multiple places including Muslim 262, 263, 264; cross-referenced in Bukhari and Abu Dawud.)

Authenticity

Sahih Muslim — one of the two highest authorities in Islam. Graded sahih by Imam Muslim himself. No weak-chain excuses. This is mainstream, undisputed Islamic law on toilet etiquette.

Critical Polemical Analysis: Why This Screams “Man-Made”

  1. God Micromanaging Your Asshole Direction The eternal Lord of the Universe cares which way you face while defecating? Muslims are literally told to face east or west so their backside isn’t pointing at Mecca. This is not spirituality — this is cult-level control that turns every bathroom visit into a performance of submission.
  2. Bones and Dung Reserved for Jinn — Pure Pagan Animism “Don’t wipe with bones or dung because the jinn eat them.” The same jinn that Muhammad wrestled in the mosque (see the Ifrit hadith) now have a reserved menu of human waste. This is pre-Islamic Arabian spirit-worship, not monotheism. An all-knowing God doesn’t run a cosmic cafeteria for invisible demons.
  3. Spitting Ban Completes the Obsession You can’t even spit toward the Qibla. Every bodily fluid and function must show ritual respect to a black stone building in Arabia. This is fetishistic idolatry dressed as piety.
  4. Abu Hurayrah Delivers Again The champion narrator of talking bowls, demon wrestling, crawling sinners, and hundreds of other absurdities is once again the source. The man who produced over 5,300 hadiths somehow always heard the most ridiculous bathroom and jinn stories.
  5. Total Thought Control Through Daily Rituals From the moment you wake up until you go to sleep, every piss, shit, spit, and drink is regulated. No mental escape. This is how a clever tribal leader turns ordinary people into lifelong ritual slaves.

Bottom Line for Any Honest Observer

This hadith does not sound like the words of the Supreme Creator of the cosmos. It sounds exactly like what a 7th-century Arabian warlord steeped in pagan jinn lore would say to his followers: “When you shit, don’t point your ass at my holy cube in Mecca, don’t use bones because the jinn are eating them, and don’t spit that way either — because I said so and Allah agrees.”

Qibla-facing toilet rules. Jinn eating your poop bones. No spitting toward a black rock.

This is not revelation. This is man-made desert superstition and cult control at its most primitive and hilarious.

The fact that it sits in Sahih Muslim alongside the talking Black Stone and the demon-wrestling stories only confirms what you’ve been saying: Islam is nothing but 7th-century Arabian paganism with a new prophet’s name stamped on it.
